While we consider this a connector road up to the big passes from the Valais, it is a destination route itself. Leaving Brig you wind your way up the canyon. The corners are fluid, the scenery is beautiful, the road surface is sublime, the only downside is the traffic which can be heavy in peak season.

You get some very typical Swiss scenery up this road including picturesque meadows with fluffy cows, to houses built perched on stone platforms that are hanging out into the road. There are plenty of photo ops up this route if you can be bothered to stop and get out your camera.

At the top of this road you are left with one of the most difficult decisions in the world: Do I turn right and go to Italy over the Nufenen Pass, turn right and go over the the Grimsal, or plow on strait ove the Frurka. Life is tough!

The Furka Pass is a 2429 mountain pass in the Swiss Alps connecting Gletsch, Valais with Realp, Uri. The Furka-Oberalp-Bahn line through the Furka Tunnel bypasses the pass and this is where all the heavy vehicles go.

If you are riding east from the Valais, when you arrive at Gletsh you are presented with a very difficult decision, continue strait up the Furka, or turn left up the Grimsal. We can’t really help you here as they are both stunning roads. In fact, if it were us, we would ride the whole circuit, Furka, Susten and then the Grimsal, repeat as necessary.

OK, back to the Furka, leaving Gletsh you run up the west ramp. After a couple of tight hairpins, you ride along the side of the mountain in what seems like a never ending ribbon of beautifully sequenced corners. About ½ way up you can go have a wander through the Rhone glacier, and then on to the top.

The East ramp is much narrower and the hairpins get casino quite tight. Makes for some good entertainment in the summer time as the big coaches try to make it around in one go.

One of the classic Swiss passes with absolutely stunning scenery. A bucket list route and one you should not miss if you enjoy riding.

Fun Fact: The Furka Pass was used as a location in the James Bond film Goldfinger for the Aston Martin chase scene.

We rate this a medium difficulty route as the east ramp can be very narrow and the hairpins very sharp.

One of my favourites! This is one of the most underrated roads in the world, mainly because the bar is set so high in this area of superlative roads.

This pass can be ridden in either direction, depending on which way you are heading. If you are riding east, you start in Andermatt, beginning in the middle of town. Andermatt is rich in history, it sits in a high alpine valley and provided the natural crossing point for online casino those travelling north to south and east to west. And it still does!

Leave Andermatt heading east up the western ramp of the Oberalp. This ramp is open, fast, wide, good surface, easy to overtake and has good visibility i.e. great fun if you are on online casino any type of sports bike but easy for any type bike. Sweepers give way for wide hairpins up to the summit. Approaching the summit you ride by a high mountain reservoir, and once you are there are a couple of cafes to grab a bite or a drink.

The east ramp is much tighter but never the less a pleasure to ride all the way own to Disentis.

Enjoy the Oberalp, it really deserves more love!

Lukmanier Pass or Passo del Lucomagno, is a pass 1915 m. in the Swiss Alps.

The road from Disentis/Mustér in the canton of Graubünden leads through the Val Medel across the pass to the Blenio valley and Biasca in the canton of Ticino. North of the pass, the road runs along the east shore of Lake Sontga Maria.

While this is not one of the most casino pa natet stunning roads in the region, it is well worth a ride. And- you have to remember to competition is pretty stiff in this area. The Swiss have been improving it over the years, so some parts the surface is brilliant, some not so.

San Bernardino Pass at 2,066m is a high mountain pass in the Swiss Alps connecting the Hinterrhein and the Mesolcina (Misox) valleys between Thusis (Graubünden) and Bellinzona (Ticino). Located in the far eastern side of the Western Alps it is not to be confused with the Great St. Bernard Pass and the Little St. Bernard Pass. The top of the pass represents both the Italo-German language frontier and the watershed (drainage divide) The Associated Press and other media outlets are urging a judge to grant access to police videos made shortly after singer lyrics to baby by justin bieber ’s arrest in January. between the Po basin and the Rhine basin.

Most traffic takes the motorway so this route is usually left for out entertainment.

The northern ramp is steep, basically a series of hairpins until you reach the plateau at the top. Then there is a short stretch of twisties over the bleak green granite and bog landscape to the Refuge.

The southern side is mostly through the trees. It is not that wide, but has a great surface. After a short but steep drop from the top, the road levels out a bit towards miles of fast/medium sweepers leading to Mesocco.

We rate the a medium difficulty route.

Rated as the best road in the world by Top Gear a few years ago, it is certainly on radar of most riders and drivers in the area. But after riding it recently, you have to ask “what were those guys smoking?” While the road does have something for everyone, it also has some of the tightest hairpins in the world and to make things a bit more challenging- a couple of them are in tunnels! I can’t imagine what fun it must be to take a Lamborghini up this road, NOT- I certainly hope you are capable of reversing up hills Jeremy!

On a Ducati, it is a completely different story. The Splurgen is truly an engineering marvel. It can be ridden either way, but for this listing we are going to ride it from north to south. Starting from the village of Splurgen, you wind up a tight forest lined mountain road until you hit the 1st plateau, where the corners open up and the scenery turns to classic “high alpine valley”. Then you hit the second ramp with a ribbon of hairpins all the way to the summit. (19 hairpins on the north ramp) The summit provides some spectacular views in both directions if it is clear and is well worth a stop, along with everyone else.

Descending on the Italian side of this pass is a 3 part story:

1. The open section at the top- Beautiful scenery, nice corners, reasonable surface- and a little village or lunch about 1/3 of the way down this section with plenty of Restaurants. This is clearly the nicest part of this route.

2. The circular staircase- We go from the nicest part of this route to the most interesting. His has to be one of the tightest roads in the world. A series of hairpins right down the side of a cliff. Just have a look at the video starting at 5.10. This is jaw dropping stuff here, and just be thankful you left the Lambo at home.

3. the valley ride- Back to more normal fair here- down the canyon on roads of good surface but you pick up more traffic the further south you go.

All in all- a truly stunning ride, and should not be missed if you are in the area. BUT- and there is a big but here- this is a DIFFICULT pass and should only be ridden in good conditions unless you are a true masochist.

At 1815m the Maloja Pass (Italian: Passo del Maloja, German: Malojapass) is a high mountain pass in the Swiss Alps in the canton of Graubünden, linking the Engadin with the Val Bregaglia and Chiavenna in Italy. It marks the watershed between the Danube and Po basins. This is really a one ramp pass, with all your climbing done on the suoth side. The route can be divided into three parts:

1. The canyon- leaving Chiavenna at 333m, you gently wind up the canyon. Mostly wide sweeping corners and straits with stunning scenery.

2. The ramp- there is a very steep ramp up to the 1815m summit with multiple hairpins. The road is reasonable wide to accommodate the tour coaches who regularly make this run.

3. The lakeside cruise- after the summit you cruise gently by the side of the many long lakes south of St Moritz- just spectacular!

This is fairly major road so in high season you might find yourself crawling along, especially up and down the ramp. As it is a major road in to St Moritz, It is all in good condition, reasonably wide with good surface. We rate this route as easy to ride.

The Bernina Pass or Passo del Bernina is a 2328m mountain pass in the Bernina Range of the Alps, in the canton of Graubünden (Grisons) in eastern Switzerland. It connects the famous resort town of St. Moritz in the Engadin valley with the Italian-speaking Val Poschiavo, which ends in the Italian town of Tirano in Valtellina.

Fast sweepers on a wide road with great surface. This can be busy because of traffic heading for duty-free Livigno.

Up out of Tirano, you cross the border in to Switzerland. You pass the lake and a few small towns - watch out for the railway running parallel to and often right in the middle of the road - some risky level crossings. It's quite fast and not too twisty. Out of the towns the road climbs gently on sweepers and a surface which stays superb all the way to St. Moritz. Up to the tree-line, then the road gets consistently tighter, but because it's a major road it's neither steep nor narrow. The section near the top is absolutely brilliant - fast tight bends which turn into huge, wide hairpins - just chuck the bike over and keep it there. Watch out if you're going really fast as some bends tighten a bit mid-corner.

The northern side is a lot straighter and very fast, with suburb views.

We rate this an easy route.
