A great ride over the Pyrenees. Leaving Pamplona, things are strait and wide open. Thing do not really get going till Zubiri and after that this route is like a barrel of monkeys. Great surface, well-formed corners, with the occasional strait bit that allow you some time to regroup. There is a great place to stop for coffee or something to eat in Roncesvalles- there are about 3 big cafes at the side of the road- you will know when you have arrived. From Roncesvalles you have a series of hairpins craps and the it all tightens up and the road just keeps getting casino pa natet better. The traffic does then to bunch up here, especially on weekends in the summer. But, what a road when you have it to yourself. Your 1st stop in France is St Jean Pied de Port. Full of roadside cafes, but when we were there in June it was just steaming with busloads of tourists. From St Jean Pied de Port it is all a bit strait and wide open, with a few sweepers just to keep things interesting. We rate this an easy route.
