This is a bit of a transit road, but being a Swiss transit road makes it a bit special. Leaving Saanan, one of the villages that makes up the Gstaad ski area, you wind up the mountain side to Saanenmöser, which is also part of the ski area. This part of the route is excellent if you can get a clean run at it, but you usually find some traffic. It affords great views down the valley and there are few good places to stop for a break in Saanenmöser. A slow strait piece of road over the summit, which then drops you down into the canyon heading for Zwiesimmen, which is just a fantastic ride though tree lined valley.

After a slow ride through Zwiesimmen, it’s back to shooting the canyon, this time wider and race track quality surface. The corners are wide and sweeping and there is a couple series that just have a fantastic rhythm. The route then opens up into a large valley, which picks up more and more traffic the further you go towards Interlaken. A much better choice, depending on where you are going, is to hang a left up the Jaun pass, for yet another fantastic ride.
