What a great little find this route was. If you ride up to Cervinia on the Matterhorn route, we suggest this little road is well worth doing on your way down, especially if you are heading west towards Aosta. It is a small road, some of it is one lane, but most of it has good surface and is generally fun to ride.
Leaving the Matterhorn Valley at Antey-Saint-Andre you wind you way up the side of the valley to yet another ski area, Torgnon. Turn left, and carry on with your accent. There are several viewing points that provide great views up to valley with the Matterhorn as a backdrop, just stunning!
Carry on and you end up on the side of the Aosta valley, which also provides some pretty spectacular viewing. There are several small roads down to the valley floor, but the main one has a better surface and is wider.
All and all, a very enjoyable ride off the beaten track.
We rate this route as medium difficulty as it is quite narrow in places and does have some tight hairpin corners.
