The Passo di Sella, or Sellajoch, is an absolute stunner! At 2237 meters, it is one of the highest routes in the area. This pass makes up the western leg of the Dolomite magic circuit (Passo di Gardena, Passo di Sella, Passo di Pordoi , and the Passo Campolongo). This route is medium difficulty as some of the hairpins on the north are very tight. The road surface is all quite good now and most of the corners have reasonable visibility.

Since the Passo di Stella is part of Dolomite magic circuit carries quite a bit of tourist traffic, which includes a high number of tourist coaches in the summer. The road does give passing opportunities, but if you are there in high season there is likely to be someone coming the other way. The top is quite narrow and there's only limited parking, even for bikes. It can be very busy, mostly filled with cars who's drivers are looking at the scenery and not the road. It is important to understand this circuit is NOT a racetrack- you are there for the roads and the scenery, which in my opinion is some of the finest in the world. Dolomite monoliths Just seem to pop ot of the gound like weeds in this area. So, bide your time, take in the sights and the smells.
