Toto, were not in Kansas anymore. In fact, there is probably nowhere more un-Kansas like in the world.

If your here for a riding holiday, you in for a treat in that you can ride the Grimsel, Susten, and Fruka passes in a circle with no backtracking or transit roads. Three of the best road in the world all linked up- now you can’t beat that with a stick, can you?

Riding form South to north, leave Gletsh a literally ride strait up a cliff- OK, there are some nice wide hairpins to give a hand, but this road is an engineering triumph. This whole road has a great surface, like it was made for riding a nice bike.

Once you get to the top of the south ramp, you get some lovely views and another feat of Swiss engineering, a mammoth dam holding back a high mountain reservoir. The north ramp is much longer and varied. For a good overview from a completely different point of view, check out the video below.

This is quite a fast road once you clear the hairpins and can be rated easy to medium difficulty. But beware, there are reports of the police setting up radar traps on this road, especially down by the reservoir.
