This is one of those roads you need local knowledge to even find, and it is a real jewell in terms of scenry and diversity of road chariter. Your certainly not in Kansas any more if you venture up this road ( it's more goat path for the western side). Approcing form the the west, turn west off the main road to teh Col de Mosses. This takes you up a desolate road on the side of of a resavoir. The only traffic up ths road is a few hikers and the Swiss Army, who have a practice area up here, watch out for the tanks that occasionally roam the area- you have been warned. After some lovely wide sweeping corners up to the top, the road narrows down to a one lane road- after 3-4 km, you come around a bend and voila, a view of the whole lake leman valley. Now how stunning is that on a nice day? OK, here is where things get a bit interesting, a one lane tunnel for about two k. Your suppose to wait for prescribed times to go up and down, but on a bike, you can generally squeeze into the knooks and crannies if you meet something coming the other way, our advice- take it slow. Once you are through the tunnel, you ahve a one lane road down the the valley floor wich is packed with more tight hairpins than you ever tought could exist on a single road. soldier on, your almost there.

This ride is all about the view and creativity in building roads over challenging terrain. Certainly not the road for a spirited ride- although the first 10 Km are quite nice usually free from any other vehicles- just watch out for the Swiss army- they like to play with big toys up here.
